Satsuma no Yu is the onsen that belongs to Shiroyama Kankō Hotel. The onsen is ridiculously expensive, so my wife figured the only way to bathe there is to stay at the hotel. The stay was surprisingly reasonable. When we were there the onsen was under renovation, which meant we could not use the sauna. The best thing about Satsuma no Yu is the view of Kagoshima city and Sakurajima from the rotenburo. Otherwise it's not so special and it's definitely not worth 2400 yen.
The view from the hotel was very nice.
It was difficult taking pictures in the onsen. This shot is the best I could get.
