On this day we went fishing for shell fish and seaweed in Kitsuki. On the way home we dropped by at Takenoi to collect stamps and to clean ourselves.
The price for bathing here is 500 yen, but we used the coupons from the onsen guide book — called Onsenbon (温泉本) — we buy every year. My wife bathed for free and I got 100 yen discount. An Onsenbon costs only 350 yen, so I recommend you buy one.

Hotel Takenoi is right beneath Beppu Tower. Hotel guests get to go up the tower for free. The onsen is on the top floor of the hotel. There is a very friendly lady managing the onsen and chatting with the guests. As almost always, it was an enjoyable experience.
