My mother-in-law is from a town called Ōmuta in the south of Fukuoka prefecture. On the weekend of August 6th we went to Ōmuta to attend a ceremony in honor of my wife's grandmother, who passed away last year. The buddhist ceremony was followed by a big lunch with relatives and neighbors. After lunch my wife, her mother, her brother and I visited Ōkawa Onsen, which is about half an hour by car from Ōmuta.

I enjoyed bathing here. There is an indoor and an outdoor bath. In the outdoor area there is also a steam sauna and, if you pay extra, you can get a massage. The onsen was crowded, so unfortunately no pictures of the baths.
