This bath is only open to non-hotel-guests between 11:00 and 15:00, so it was difficult for us to visit. The only option was to go on the weekend, but then it is busy and you sometimes get turned down.
The hotel has two baths. One indoor and the other outdoor, on the roof of the hotel. We were lucky and got to bathe in the outdoor bath, which has a great view over Beppu Bay.
