Wakakusa Onsen joined Beppu Onsendō only last year. We had driven past this onsen many times, but we thought it looked kind of dubious from the outside, so we never went. It turned out our prejudice was incorrect: the bath was quite nice.
Wakakusa means young grass. That's why they have decorations of grass on the wall.
