When we visit onsen outside Beppu they are sometimes advertising that their bath is "kakenagashi". This means that the spring water is not recycled, but that it keeps flowing from the source. In Beppu this is not even special. Almost every onsen in Beppu is kakenagashi. I should appreciate living in the onsen capital more.
According to the onsen guide book Kunichiten Onsen's source produces a lot of water. Other than that it's very similar to other 100-yen onsen in Beppu.
