This blog is about Asahi Onsen in Shimogōri. There is another, newer Asahi Onsen in Akeno, which will be covered some other time.
Asahi Onsen is quite big and a bit old, but I liked it. It is not far from Crystal Onsen and Shimogōri Onsen. There are about seven or eight different baths and they all have different temperatures. You should be able to find a bath you like. They also have two kinds of sauna and a big rotenburo.
Can't bathe here if you are covered in tattoos.

There is not much more I can tell about this onsen, except that the Monday after the local professional football team, Oita Trinita, wins a home game, entry is half price.
